These guys are terrific: quick, fair, and helpful. I had my car towed there because it wasn't starting. They learned it was a computer issue (and the battery and starter were fine) so it had to go to the dealership to have the computer issue resolved. The dealership, however, tried to tell me that I needed a new battery and a new starter! Even at this stage, when I called Advanced Auto Care to recheck on what they'd found, they walked me through it so I could tell the dealership. All of this help, and NO CHARGE! tl;dr: These guys are great, and the Volkswagen dealership shop isn't.

I have been here a few times now and I always leave happier than ever. They check the car and make sure everything is good and if it is they don't charge a dime. They aren't in the business to make tons of money by ripping people off. Most recently Dave sent me elsewhere where he knew I could get my tires fixed quickly and effectively. I am always so impressed by their timeliness and caring customer service. Will be back and will recommend to everyone who needs a good mechanic in Bloomington, IN. If you are looking for an all-around good place to go, here is where you should start.

Today my check engine light came on and I was very concerned because I've had problems with different vehicles in the past and even blew an engine. I've had bad experiences with other car repair businesses around Bloomington so I asked around for a place that was HONEST and did good work. One of my coworkers suggested that I give Advanced Auto Care a call. So I did and immediately, I noted that the man on the phone was friendly and didn't talk down to me. He said that they are scheduled full for the week but if I brought my car in they could scan the code and at least tell me if I have something to be worried about. I had already called Pep Boys and Meineke earlier today and neither told me that they could do that for me. So, after work I took my car there and was pleasantly surprised that they came out immediately and read my code. It turns out, it was just a minor issue and nothing that will leave me stranded. The tech explained the code to me and the possible reasons. He cleared the code and they said that if it comes on again or starts to act up, to bring it back. Because of the way that I was treated today, I will definitely come back if I need anything else done to my car! I will be telling everyone I know to bring their business here! Thank you for not trying to sell me something I didn't need or act like I am a moron for not knowing what's wrong with my car. You have NO idea how great that feels!!!
